Zone 10. The USDA categorizes growing climates by zones. In frosty Minnesota, Zone 4 dominates; in Southern California, toasty and dry Zone 10 rules. Zone 10 flora are a peculiar sight: agave plates with serrated blades for leaves, cacti forming perfect spheres and prickly needles which attach to intruders with the slight touch.

Botanical subjects have long been subjects in prints, particularly before photography became portable, affordable and colorful. Some prints were scientific records; others charming pieces for the wall.
